1. Cannot detect the Enclosure.
Q: The WebGUI and operating system does not recognize the RocketStor RAID Enclosure. How can I fix this?

A: First, please confirm that system’s Thunderbolt™ driver is installed correctly. For Windows, please allow the Thunderbolt™ device connection from the system’s Thunderbolt™ utility. Note: Some PC’s may require updates in order for the Thunderbolt 3 ports to function properly. For more information visit this link: (https://thunderbolttechnology.net/updates)

2. The WebGUI does not recognize the Host Controller (RAID Controller).
Q: The WebGUI cannot connect to the Host Controller, and I am unable to configure my storage.

A: Please check the power LED on the front panel of the RocketStor enclosure and make sure the enclosure is powered on. If the power LED is not on, check the Setup-Enclosure section of the Quick Installation Guide. If the unit is powered on, but is not detected by the WebGUI, please verify the controller and driver status.

3. The RAID Array is not mounting.
Q: The operating system does not recognize my RAID array. What is causing this?

A: There are several possible causes:
First, please make sure the enclosure is powered on. If the power LED is not on, check the Setup-Enclosure section of the Quick Installation Guide.
Please login to the WebGUI and check the array’s status. If the array status is Disabled, it will not be recognized or accessed by the operating system. Please check the User Guide for more information about the Disabled status.
A new disk or RAID array must be partitioned and formatted with the operating system’s disk utility before the operating system can mount and utilize the RAID array.

4. RAID level selection
Q: How do I determine which RAID level is suitable for my environment or application?

A: Please check the User Manual’s RAID Level Reference Table.

5. Hot-Swap Support
Q: Can I hot-swap a disk or array hosted by the RAID enclosure?

A: Please use the WebGUI’s Unplug function. To access this option, under the Logical tab, locate the Maintenance option to right-hand side of the target array. Click Unplug to safely power down the array for removal.

6. RAID Initialization / Rebuild suddenly stops.
Q: Why has the RAID initialization or rebuilding process suddenly stopped?

A: RAID initialization or rebuild progress will halt if the host system enters a Sleep or Power Saving mode. Please disable the system’s Sleep/Power Saving modes during these procedures.

7. RocketStor RAID Enclosure has powered off.
Q: Why has the RocketStor enclosure suddenly powered off?

A: Make sure the cable connection is secure. The Rocketstor 6618A complies with Thunderbolt™ power management specifications. It will power off the device automatically if the Thunderbolt™ cable is not connected to the device and host system.

8. Backwards Compatibility.
Q: Can I use the Enclosure with an old Thunderbolt™ system?

A: Thunderbolt™ 3 is fully backwards compatible with Thunderbolt™ and Thunderbolt™ 2 host platforms. You will need a USB-C to Thunderbolt™ 2 adapter in order to use this enclosure with a Thunderbolt™/Thunderbolt™ 2 port.
