The SSD6540M is an ultra-compact, portable, high-performance external NVMe RAID solution designed for professional grade, performance-hungry applications that demand uncompromised transfer bandwidth. It enables any desktop/workstation PCs with an open, dedicated PCIe 3.0 x16 slot to support up to four off-the-shelf M.2 drives in one or more RAID configurations.
The unique NVMe architecture provides dedicated PCIe 3.0 x4 bandwidth for each drive-bay; this allows each M.2 SSD to interface directly with the platform’s CPU, and deliver sustained transfer performance in excess of 13,000MB/s – faster than any other external desktop RAID storage solution in today’s marketplace!

The enclosure and controller can be moved freely between any PC-based workstation with a free PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, and enables quick and safe access to the M.2 media for removal or replacement. The small hardware footprint is suitable for fieldwork, and can be easily transported to a client's location to live-demo a media project or deliver finished product.

The built-on NVMe RAID technology allows customers to easily configure NVMe storage to satisfy the demands of a variety of performance-intensive storage applications such as 4 & 8K media production, 3D rendering, scientific and R&D platforms.
Each SSD6540M features a built-in LCD screen that displays environmental conditions in real-time. Customers can quickly access the temperature of storage configurations and adjust fan speed to ensure the NVMe drives stay healthy and run optimally. In addition, a built in alarm can be set to activate in the case of temperature or enclosure related warning or failure.
The SSD6540M includes HighPoint’s comprehensive NVMe RAID Management Interface. Customers can quickly analyze PCIe bandwidth available to the SSD6540M’s NVMe Controller, and identify which slot will maximize transfer speeds. NVMe Manager features TRIM support, and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring with total Terabyte Written (TBW) tracking. S.M.A.R.T. monitoring allows you to check the temperature, voltage and TBW of each NVMe SSD. The interface updates attribute data in real time, and can be even be configured to notify you by Email, in the event of an error condition or threshold warning.
