RocketRAID IDE Milestones

HighPoint introduces the ATA66 chipset and controller to the industry. This chipset was adopted by many major motherboard manufacturers establishing HighPoint as a major player in the PC storage market. Next, the HPT37x ATA RAID Chipset was integrated into of storage products by major motherboard manufacturers and leading PC vendors. The HPT37x chipset brought RAID to the motherboard and now RAID is standard feature of every motherboard.

RocketRAID100 – HighPoint launches it’s first RocketRAID host adapter, the RocketRAID 100.

HPT370/370A – Highpoint launches the HPT37x IDE/ATA RAID controllers – these chipsets are integrated into a variety of storage products by major motherboard manufacturers and leading PC vendors including HP, Sun Microsystems, Apple, and Adaptec. HighPoint develops a RAID interface and driver suite for Adaptec ATA RAID host adapters, which integrate the HPT370A .
1998
HPT366 – The industry’s first ATA66 embedded ATA66 controller. This chipset is adopted by leading motherboard vendors including ABIT, I will, and ECS. Well over a million HPT366 are sold, establishing HighPoint as a major player in the PC storage market.
