The SSD7580 series are fully independent NVMe RAID controllers and are not tied to a specific motherboard or chipset, require no specialized PCIe related settings such as Bifurcation or VROC, and are fully backwards compatible with both AMD and Intel-based PCIe 3.0 host platforms.
SSD7580 Series controllers are powered by our next-gen NVMe RAID architecture, which incorporates Broadcom’s Gen4 NVMe Switch chipset to deliver uncompromised PCIe 4.0 x16 RAID and connectivity performance.
In addition, the SSD7580B features Surprise Add and Remove technology which enables true hot-swap capability for industry standard U.2 NVMe SSDs. Customers can now add or remove drives using the management interface without having to power down the system or remove the NVMe host device.
SSD7580 series NVMe RAID controllers are ideal bandwidth upgrades for Gen3 U.2 SSDs and applications that require transfer speeds between 15,000 and 24,000 MB/s. RAID 1/0 (Security & Speed) - Unique to HighPoint NVMe RAID solutions, RAID 1/0 (also known as RAID 10) requires a minimum of 4 NVMe SSDs – it will mirror the data of one stripe array to a second, hidden stripe array for security. RAID 1/0 is capable of delivering read performance on par with RAID 0, and is superior to RAID 5 for NVMe applications. Unlike RAID 5, RAID 1/0 doesn’t necessitate additional parity related write operations, which reduce the TBW life span of NVMe SSDs.
RAID 0 (Speed) - Also known as a “stripe” array, this mode delivers Maximum Performance, and requires a minimum of 2 NVMe SSDs.
RAID 1 (Security) -This mode creates a hidden duplicate of the target SSD, and requires 2 NVMe SSDs to configure. RAID 1 is ideal for bootable volumes.
