The SSD6780A NVMe RAID enclosure utilizes a CDFP 400Gb/s to CDFP 400Gb/s cabling solution to maximize Gen4 x16 performance.  The enclosure and PCle Adapter are equipped x48 lane PCle Switch ICs which allocate x4 lanes to each of the 8 hosted U.2 or U.3 SSDs.

Innovative PCIe Switch Architecture: Like all HighPoint NVMe solutions, our proven PCIe switching architecture enables each NVMe enclosure to maximize data transfer speed by fully utilizing all x16 lanes of host bandwidth, minimize latency, and optimize signal integrity to enhance reliability.

Both sides of each solution, the enclosure (device) and PCIe adapter (host), are equipped with a dedicated PCIe switch IC. This enables the solution to provide x16 lanes of dedicated PCIe Gen4 upstream bandwidth and x4 lanes of dedicated downstream bandwidth to each U.2 or U.3 SSD. This unique architecture also serves to minimize latency and significantly enhances signal integrity to streamline I/O transmission between the host computer and NVMe storage.

 

Dedicated PCIe x16 Data Transfer Performance: HighPoint NVMe storage enclosures can maximize read/write performance due to their ability to directly interface with the host CPU, and are capable of self-bifurcation; they manage and distribute x48 lanes of internal host bandwidth to optimize transfer speed for each NVMe SSD.
