Cost-Effective High-Density 6G DAS Connectivity Solution for Linux Platforms
HighPoint’s Rocket 2720A (R2720A) is the industry’s most cost-effective high-density direct-attached storage solution for x86 platforms and Linux distributions.
The compact half-height, half-length PCIe 3.0 x8 HBA can be easily integrated into any industry standard PC platform with PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 host connectivity, and provides eight independent 6G SAS device channels.
The dual SFF-8087 ports can support up to 8 SAS/SATA HDDs or SSDs of any capacity.
Driverless, Plug & Play Installation for Linux Distributions
Rocket 2720A HBAs are natively supported by Linux distributions running kernel v3.10 and later. No device driver or software application is required.
Native driver support simplifies routine kernel and OS update procedures. Unlike devices that require binary driver support, the Rocket 2720A can remain online during the upgrade procedure, without fear of data loss or extended downtime.
Comprehensive Device Driver Support for Windows Server, Hyper-V and Windows 11/10
Certified Device Drivers are available for all current version of Windows operating systems including Server 2022, Hyper-V, and Windows 10 & 11. Legacy driver support is also available for Server 2016/2012 and Windows 7 & 8. Device driver packages are routinely updated to keep in sync with official OS updates.
OS RAID & Software Defined Storage Ready
The Rocket 2720A is fully compatible with OS level RAID solutions and Software-Defined Storage Suites such as CEPH and Microsoft S2D. Disks hosted by the Rocket 2720A will be recognized as independent, stand-alone drives, which can be formatted, partitioned and configured into software RAID arrays or JBOD/span configurations using the default Windows and Linux storage management interfaces.
Versatile Cabling Solutions
The industry standard SFF-8087 Mini-SAS ports can support a wide range of cabling accessories such as the INT-MS-1M4SC Mini-SAS to SATA data cable.
